Everything in Lock in, and what it’s for
Lock in is built around one loop: learn a topic, practise it at the right level, get marked, and plan what comes next. Here is every part of it, grouped that way.
Learn
Short notes for every topic, flashcards that come back at the right time, and a session that builds itself.
Notes and flashcards
Each topic starts with short notes that cover what you need, without the padding of a textbook chapter. Then flashcards with spaced repetition: rate each card Again, Hard, Good or Easy and it comes back just before you’d forget it.
Study for me
Not sure where to start? Press one button and Lock in builds a 15 to 20 minute session from the flashcards that are due, the mistakes that are due and questions on your weakest topics.
- Questions come in three levels: Foundation, Standard and Complex.
- Three right in a row moves you up a level. Two wrong moves you back.
- Recent answers count more, so it follows where you are now.
Your notes, as a study guide
Drop in your own class notes and get a study guide, flashcards and a practice quiz made from them.
- Add your notesPaste text, or drop in a PDF or a text file. Pick the subject it belongs to.
- The AI reads themIt writes everything in its own words, using only what’s in your notes. Long notes are split into parts.
- Study it like any deckYour deck joins Study for me, spaced-repetition flashcards, your mistakes list and practice.
A study guide
Two to five topic sections, each with the key points in plain words.
10 to 20 flashcards
Key terms, people, dates, causes and effects, ready for spaced repetition.
A practice quiz
8 to 15 exam-style multiple choice questions, each with a one-line explanation.
Written questions
2 to 4 short-answer questions with one marking point per mark and a model answer, so AI marking can check yours.
The limits
AI can make mistakes, so check the guide against your notes. Photos and scanned pages need the full Claude AI, which isn’t available in every version; text PDFs, text files and pasted notes always work.

Practise
Questions at your level, mistakes that keep coming back until they stick, and full practice papers against the clock.
Mistakes come back on a schedule
Every question you get wrong goes on your mistakes list, diagrams and all. It comes back 1, 3 and 7 days later until you get it right three times, so the same slip doesn’t cost you marks in the real exam.
Timed practice exams
Every subject has a practice paper that mixes multiple choice, short answers and longer responses from across the course. It starts with reading time and runs against the clock, the way it does on the day.
Papers are built fresh each time, and many Maths and Science questions get new numbers, so you can sit another tomorrow without memorising the last one. More on practice exams.
Print a paper with its marking guide
Prefer pen and paper? Print any practice exam as a plain paper with answer lines, then print the marking guide to check it yourself afterwards. Good for sitting a paper away from screens.
Get marked
Feedback on what you actually wrote, from AI powered by Claude. AI can make mistakes, so check anything surprising against your notes or with your teacher.
AI marking with feedback
Write a full answer and get a mark against the question’s own criteria and model answer, with a note on which points you made and which were missing. Then rewrite it and try again.
A mark from Lock in is a guide, not an official result.
Ask AI and Explain my mistake
Ask AI knows the notes for the topic you’re on, so you can ask it to explain something another way or quiz you on it. Get a question wrong and Explain my mistake looks at what you answered and shows where your thinking went off track.
AI answers can be wrong. There’s a daily limit on AI requests for each pass.
